Thank you! I've added it to our blog. We have mostly a Spanish speaking audience (next to English) so I edited the HTML and moved Spanish to the top of the list, followed by the other languages that would be more prevalent with our users. Thanks again. I had the Google code there previously but it did not work.

Thanks very much for sharing your widget, but how can I have it appear as a button instead of as a drop-down menu? The website I'm using it for is originally in Spanish and Google Translator only translates between English and Spanish, so it's a waste to be using a drop-down menu.

Hello Todd. Thank you again for sharing this code. I have used it for almost a year(?) now. It works great as it always has (on Squarespace) but on Blogger there is a large white box on the top of the page when one "translates" it. I am guessing it is a "google translate" thing and not your code because I have seen this where folks just use that "click the flag" code on their front page.

I found bug in your code, try to convert your page into French language. It always shows French by default, but the page is in English. So i selected French from the list of options in the translation bar, but no use. I thought you might make some chages to it to function correctly. I have checked follow-up comments.

Yea, Google doesn't hook you up with every language, nothing I can do there. As for javascript, unless your in web development, it can be a really tricky thing to pick up, browser quirks et al.

For Blogger only, another script is working well. It displays a line of the translation choice on top of each post, with the nice typo style you choose already.

The choice is from french to english and german only.

The comment block here does not accept html, php, asp (as they says), so pls look at the source code of the blog above mentioned and replace proper "u" value with : $BlogItemPermalinkURL$

Actually this is better than I had before (I know v.v.v little code and I only ever managed to make it translate the front page) and I knocked off the 'simplified' and 'beta' to narrow the box. j.rock, if you're still watching, there is a flag example at http://googletranslategadget.blogspot.com - but I don't like it, hence I went searching further and landed here.
